The 2025–26 EuroLeague is the 26th season of the modern era of the EuroLeague. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this is the 69th season of the premier basketball competition for European men's clubs. This is the first season in the league without the sponsorship of Turkish Airlines since 2009–10 season. The Final Four will be held at Telekom Center Athens in Athens, Greece, which marks the second time the Greek capital hosts the Final Four, the first being in 2007.[1]
Starting from this season, the league was expanded from 18 to 20 teams, allowing Dubai Basketball to enter the competition, becoming the first non-Israeli team from outside of Europe to play in the league.
Fenerbahçe Beko are the defending champions.
Teams
[edit]Team changes (pre-season)
[edit]A total of 20 teams will participate in the league, including 17 teams from the 2024–25 season, two promoted from the 2024–25 EuroCup and one receiving a long-term wild card.[2][3]

It will be the debut season of the team in the European top flight.[4] On May 7, 2025, ALBA Berlin opted to play in the FIBA-organised Basketball Champions League, after competing for 24 years in Euroleague Basketball competitions.[5] On June 19, 2025, the allocation of long-term wild cards to the following clubs was approved with the aims of ensuring the EuroLeague's long-term sustainability and supporting its strategic expansion to 20 teams:[3]
- Three-year wild card until the 2027–28 season: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet, Partizan Mozzart Bet, Valencia Basket and Virtus Bologna.
- Five-year wild card until the 2029–30 season: Dubai Basketball.

Results
[edit]Play-in
[edit]Under the format introduced in 2024, the 7th to 10th-ranked teams faced each other in the play-in. Each game is hosted by the team with the higher regular season record. The format was similar to the first two rounds of the Page–McIntyre system for a four-team playoff that was identical to that of the NBA play-in tournament. First, the 7th seed will host the 8th seed, with the winner advancing to the playoffs as the 7th seed; likewise the 9th seed will host the 10th seed, with the loser eliminated. Then the loser of the 7-v-8 game will host the winner of the 9-v-10 game, with the winner of that game getting the final playoff spot, as the 8th seed.

Playoffs
[edit]Playoffs series are best-of-five. The first team to win three games wins the series. A 2–2–1 format is used – teams with home-court advantage play games 1, 2, and 5 at home, while their opponents host games 3 and 4. Games 4 and 5 are only played if necessary. The four winning teams advance to the Final Four.[63]
