Politics
[edit]In 2012, Farley as Australian Agricultural Company chief executive backed the hiring of hundreds of Indian migrants.[2] At the same time he accused Barnaby Joyce of holding "xenophobic views" by opposing Chinese investment in Australian farmland.[3]
In 2020, Farley applied to join the Labor Party. He used to be a member of the NSW Nationals.[1]
In 2023, Farley donated money to Voices for Farrer and he later supported the group's independent candidate Michelle Milthorpe shortly before the 2025 federal election. She later became his main opponent during the 2026 Farrer by-election.[4]
He was elected MP for Farrer in the 2026 by-election which was caused by the resignation of former Leader of the Opposition Sussan Ley, who had held the seat for 25 years. He represented the One Nation party.
